Received this question today from bayan;
There are a number of possible tweaks you could use to help match observed in this single well, but I would question how predictive your model would then be unless there was a basis for the change that you understood. While you could (for example) change well rel perm, unless there was a basis for it (ie channeling behind casing, local gas coning nnot properly simulated in coarse grid blocks etc) then you are simply performing a mathematical matching excercise and in the process gaining no insight into what it is telling youHello,
I have been worked on Eclipse model three phase G/O/W and I got good history match as a field basis also good history match as individual wells except one well that has been drilled in gas cap .As per the model gas cap well should be produce gas for some period and then turn to produce oil due to swap oil to gas gap but actually this well still produce gas up to now. I would like to get good history match in this well to delay oil produce in the model for some period without any effect on the history match of the other wells could you please to suggest any idea to modified any properties in the model to get good HM .
Thank you in advance for your help.
So - have a think about why YOU think this well is producing so much gas and implement changes to reflect. If this means it messes up your history match, then perhaps it needs messing up
A good simulation engineer, like a good artist, should never fall in love with their model.....
