Use NFPA 70 for fire and gas detection system, it expalins installation requirement as well, i don't know the requirement for offshore, search in API 2030 and 2001 you will find out

could you please share the plant sections for which you want to propose this detection system?

Well, the perfect protection would be to go for EX rated GAS detectors, if possible!
if not, then go for EX rated Flame detectors.

there are so many options, that put be discussed if a clearer is presented in context with the relevant hazards and the applicable codes!

hi there, find attached a publication on an offshore exercise about gas detectors mapping

to me it's very time and resource-consuming especially when applied onshore; nothing you cannot do by good practice when placing gas detectors ...
