Simple search of the manual under SUMMARY section should tell you it is WPI (From memory). This though will be the productivity index evaluated of the block(s) the well penetrates. If you want an analogous PI to that you'd normally calculate analytically, then you'd need to program a custom summary vector in your post processor of choice as a function of rate, BHFP and external radius pressure.
I have searched the manual under Summary section, but it says that no units are there for WPI .So is it a dimensionless quantity? Well, what i know about the productivity index, it is calculated in Stb/day/psi. so i am a bit confused.any suggestion?
And what are some of the steps that I need to do in order to program a custom summary vector in the post processor?
you can add WPI, WPI1-5-9 which will be using different number of cells around well for average BHP's
by playing with item ??? (check) of welspecs you can adjust drainage radius used for instantaneous well PI calculations
units will be same as your data deck...
check technical description for well PI specs...

Read Technical Description manual - section titled "The productivity index". The reason for 'no units' is spelled out in a footer comment and relates to an inability to change units if the preferred phase changes
It installs by default with your Eclipse installations. From eclipse launcher, choose manuals then the technical description manual. YOu can also drill down in the eclipse directory, from memory it is call ecl_td.pdf or similar (search for *td*.pdf and you should find it)
ibtisam01,
The link to Technical description might not be working for you, but if you have Eclipse installed then you must have the Technical description in pdf in your computer. Go to the eclipse installation folder and search for it.
PS: Windows can do the search for you within the installation folder.
