API 620 vs ASME VIII Div1

Im design a vessel/tank and the customer wants us to use API620, I want to know if I can use ASME instead, is this allowed???

Tanks (Storage tanks) are to API620 or API650 or other "Tank" standards whereas ASME VIII is a pressure vessel Code. Your pressures may be outside the Scope of ASME VIII. Using ASME VIII is well over the top for design of a Tank.

API 620 IS FOR TANK DESIGN AND ASME SEC VIII DEV1 IS FOR DESIGN OF PRESSURE VESSELS. If you can not find any design particulars in API 620, you can refer ASME sec VIII.
