API 620 vs ASME VIII Div1

Hi friends,

Im designing a vessel/tank and the customer wants us to use API620, I want to know if I can use ASME instead, is this allowed???

Both codes are very much different scope wise. ASME covers a wide scope for designing of pressure vessel. If your is low pressure tank and your customer has asked to design per API 620, then its my suggestion to go for that only and follow its all minimum requirement. You may design a tank using ASME Section VIII Div-1 subject to acceptance of your client.
