Thread: When to install tubing in Gas Well?

  1. When to install tubing in Gas Well?

Looking for data and/or a case study of when tubing is typically installed in mid to high pressure gas wells.

Initially producing through casing, until well begins to liquid load. Next step for me is to install tubing, followed by artificial lift ( have typically went with plunger lift due to small amount of fluid, but considering a backside foam treatment.)

I know some install tubing during completion of well, trying to gather data on both initial tubing and installs and tubing installs after well begins to load with fluid.

    Thanks

Re: When to install tubing in Gas Well?

As a matter of fact I do not know anyone who does not install tubing during completion.
Remember, the well is as good or as bad as the casing is. If the casing get compromised, expensive workovers are in order. This alone should make you use tubing, despite other factors....
