I have some doubt about a couple of material test certificates that I came across. One was for a few ASTM A 182 F 316L flanges of heat number say 12A. Another was for a few pipe fittings of the same heat, but the specification is ASTM A 403 WP S 316L. The manufacturer has furnished separate Lab test reports for chemical and mechanical analysis made on a 80 mm dia rod of the same heat (12A). He has used this report for both the flange and the fitting. Is this acceptable. Please share your opinion on this matter.
