API 579 - Fitness-For-Service

Hi All

I wonder if any one of you, colleagues, have access to API 579 in a way that can be electronically posted.

This is a very useful standard for quantitative engineering evaluation to prove structural integrity of an in-service component containing a flaw or damage.

The lattes edition in 2009. It was split in two books. The first one is the theory and the second is a compendium of samples.

Previous to 2009 was 2007 Edition.

..what are the main differences between 2007 and 2009 editions ...in terms of content ??

For API 579 ,..In my case and for the couple of examples I had to treat I used mathcad and excel or hand calculation ?? is their a software for FFS to trart for instance brittle fracture or deformation. ??

API 579 has three levels of problem solving.
The first level is very simple and easy to use but very conservative approach.
The second level has a more detail evaluation, require more data and need to be done by an engineer
The third level is the most complex and the least conservative, you meed to use FEA .

Something else, I hear there is a software available from Equity Engineering call "Prefis" or something similar that it is use for API 579.
I never so it, so if any one else knows about it please share it.

Hi again

The software that is use for FFS Assessment from Equity Engineering is VCESage. The company offered other softwares using Risk Based Inspection philosophy, etc.

Any one came across to these products?
