With all the information being bandied about what oil prices will be in the future. I wonder if we can come up with understanding what the marginal price of oil is in the different countries. We work in the industry, should know better.
So average marginal cost of the last barrel of oil in :-
US Shale-
Canada Tar sands-
UK& Norway-
Middle East & Saudia-
Russia -
Far East-
Brazil-
GOM & Trinidad -
Africa offshore -
Australia Coal Seam gas -
Any ideas?
I think US Shale will break even around 80-90$/bbl ??. In my experience of projects in Norway- again for a standard FPSO set up in the north sea, again looking at $80/bbl.
P.S. :- Marginal cost is the cost of the last barrel of oil produced.
Thanks,
Aditya
