    Half pipe jacketed vessel under external pressure

    I have to check if a vessel with a half pipe jacket could be usable under external pressure.
    Does half pipe jacket act as a stiffener? How to calculate it?

    Read ASME Sect VIII Div1, I think paraUG-29 (or UG-27). Youll have a start for finding ur answer.
