    Hello, if a reservoir is devided by thick shale bed, how can we know above reservoir zone is in same pressure regime and in contact with below?

    RFT data and the like can give a hint (although still doesnt guarantee as you can have two sands on a normal gradient yet not connected, or two on different gradients that are in pressure communication through an aquifer, just with different fluid density contacts).

    The only gold standrad is through interference testing. Produce one and look for pressure pertubations in the other.
