Thread: Tube pipe Conveyor

  1. Tube pipe Conveyor

    Hi guys
Now I am have small problems and need your help!
We'll design one ash handling system use tube pipe conveyor.
Pls. share me some standard, technical calculation document (e.g. CEMA).
    Thanks in advance

Please use the ash screw conveyor design, this is the technical term being use and not tube pipe conveyor..you can search this in the net.

    Thanks for your reply.
    I have detail:
We consider applied screw conveyor or scraper conveyor for bottom ash handling in Boiler island only.
For plant ash (bed ash and fly ash) handling system, we must convey ash to pond by trucks.
Now this way was being high cost (maintenance and operation cost) so we want to use tube pipe conveyor but
    1. We do not understand calculation way
    2. The temperature of ash is 150oC, is it Ok for tube's material (Fabric).
Pls. help me? any expert guys?

    Re: Tube pipe Conveyor

I recommend a screw conveyor, I have experience in transportation of ash from incinerators.

    Basics;

Mechanical Design: C4 bearings should use intrinsic tolerance, also mounts bearings at the ends of the conveyor can not be secured axially by expansion, but must allow for elongation of this, if length dimensions give me I can say that undergoes expansion the shaft, too need the exactly EN Material (Werkstoff Nr.)(X.XXXX, example: 1.4307), or ASTM material specification.

To calculate the ideal diameter and power needed, I need the following information:

    1. - Flow or volume flow rate to carry on (m³ / h).
    2. - In case you want the flow or volume flow rate should provide me the following information to calculate it, outer diameter of the screw (~= inside diameter of housing body) and inside diameter of the screw (= outside diameter of propshaft), angular velocity (rpm), the screw pitch (m).
    3. - Bulk density or specific weight (Kg / m³) (For ash is usually: 600 Kg / m³).
    4. - Angle of internal friction of the product (Angle of repose of the product) (For ash is usually 40 (gr.360)).
    5. - Angle of friction against the walls of the product and the helix (For ash is usually 40 (gr.360)).
    6. - The angle of inclination of the screw conveyor to the horizontal, (If completely horizontal is 0 (gr.360), if it is completely vertical is 90 (gr.360)) (depend on the implementation of the team).
    7. - Material of construction of this transporter (1.4307, 1.4404, 1.0425, etc.) in any case whether it is carbon steel or stainless steel.

    Best Regards,
