Gas Flare System and Incinerators (thermal oxidizers)

Hello,

Could somebody tell me what is the difference between a gas flare system and thermal oxidizer, and what are the criteria to take into account.

Is there any good reference for incinerator design and construction

Incinerators have a firebox with a residence time to achieve destruction of the waste and then probably a flue gas treatment system. Flares are combusted directly in burners on stack with sufficient height.Flares do not have a flue gas handling system.
