Received the following message, and thought others might be interested as well;
Unfortunately, it is not a simple button click, and while there might be more elegant methods, the following should work;Please I need your Help.
I have a 3D Grid data in Petrel software.
I need from the information of the Grid the Reservoir Area.
how can I find the reservoir area?
if my information of the grid is i j k = volume.
I hope your help
1. Start with your top reservoir surface from the Input tab. If you do not have a surface (ie you imported a simulation grid as the starting point), then you'll need to make a surface from the top layer
2. Right click - Properties on the surface - Operations
3. Select Surface operations, and create intersection with plane - type in the OWC/GWC you have (remember, Petrel depth is negative) - run
4. this should create a new polygon set - display the polygon set and ensure it is closed, if not, close it
5. Under Properties - Operations - Area & Length you should be able to pull the Area and length of the polygon in your project units
As an alternative, you can simply draw a polygon around the area of interest and find the properties of it.
