I did not mean to infer that you disregard logs - they can be very useful, and indeed you want to check/validate your saturation function results against them. What I was trying to communicate is that you can't simply take the well saturation logs in two wells, and perform some sort of interpolation/population between the wells based solely on these logs. You have to take the log derived saturations (assuming they are correct - usually ok in areas where they have tied them to core, can be quite wrong when not - depending upon experience of your log analyst), and figure out their relationship to the perm/porosity/facies. Then take that knowledge and populate the other 99%+ of the reservoir based upon your understanding of how geology, height above FWL and wettability etc control saturation.
