I need information oon following codes.
GOST 51273-99
PB 03-576-03
PB 03-584-03

I want to check the requirement of radiography on weld either 10% or 100% on flat head of cylindrical pressure vessels as per Rostechnadzor code. Basically its designed undert section VIII but it will be installed in the region where local Rostechnadzor codes apply.

Am too much confused abut this code. Any info on Rostechnadzor code will be much needfull for me. Thanks in advance.

Hi, Thanks. following are the details with what I am dealing with.

We are manufacturing one cylindrical vesse who has flat head on both sides. As dia of flat head is 4.5m, we are using two plates, so butt joint is there on head. Vessel is designed as per ASME section VIII div I which shows radiography as NILL. Third party involved in inspection is Lloyd's Register. Loyd's insisting us on 100% radiography for this Butt joint, giving reason that if taken 10% radiography then thickness of flat head (20mm) is not enough as per UG34 of section VIII div 1. But this code is for unstayed flat head. UG47 is for stayed flat head. We have symmetrical stay supports for head. But UG47 formula for thickness of flat head dont take care of joint efficiency (E). This is one problem.
second problem is that, as this vessel will be installed in russian area then there Rostechnadzo regulatories comes into play. Last time when we supplied plant there then these authorities taken radiography on site to reverse check this. One of our engineer who is now in Moscow tell us that we need 100% radiography on this butt joint. I want to check which rule/code/standard make it 100% because they are also not giving as code number for this.
If there is requirement of code then surely we must follow it, but if there are exclusions for this then we must take advantage of that to reduce the cost.
So can you please guide me which regulation / code applies to our case & if possible can you please mail me that code.
