    how to calculate the flow rate in a pressurised pipe with a flow meter?

    i want to calculate the flow rate in a pressurised pipe when there is no flow meter available in the line...is it possible t calculate? if so how?

  3. with the pipe lenght and diameter you can calculate the volume and with the P and T conditions you can know the amount of mass inside the pipe or if the you know the presure loss between two sections of the pipe you can calculate the speed starting by the end of the bernoulli equation and start to calculate back or with the equation of friction loss (darcy or hazen or the one that you prefer).

    Best Regards.

    Completely impractical, it is easy to install flow meter rather calculate with this method. P& T correction will not come true for Liquid

    As we know
    Flow = V X A

    Area u know, velocity you need to Assume or need to take from process designer (Estimated).

    ????????????????????

    for compressible fluids(gases)-you must make corections for flow rate from your P,T condition(Actual Flow Rate) to FLOW RATE at P,T standard conditions

    hahaha... I read "without a flow meter"

    Thanks for the suggestions..sorry....but i posted a wrong question...actually i would like to calculate velocity of a gas in a pressurised pipeline when there is no flow meter in the pipe line....how can i calculate the velocity?
