Thread: about phast discharge modeling!!!!!!

  1. about phast discharge modeling!!!!!!

    guys,
if i want to model a pipe(topside) or riser leak on the offshore platform, which model shall i choose in PHAST 6.53
and the case is that the oil/gas will be lift by ESP,the flow stream will rout to the MSV(mulitiport selector valve),and then transport to the downsream platform, there's no any vessel on the plaform, and now we are conducting a screening fire and explosion analysis,in fact the main process system is simple.but when conduct the discharge modeling,i really don't know which model to use,the vessel leak/line rupture seems unbeliavale, the long pipeline model seems not fit to this case.

this can be done with the old "ALOHA" (developed by EPA) it self.,,.....if u want a precise report then u can go for TNO effects

have you try the line rupture model ? it seam this is the possible scenario for the flow line "rupture" rather than just a leak, if this is also not make sense, you may try using "the user defined Source"

  7. thanks, CLPC
i decided use the" leak model "the small leak and middle leak, and the the long pipeline model the large leak and rupture
but the result seems very conservative.
does anybody have othe good ideas?
    thanks
