    h, phi & Sw summation and Display.

    Gentlemen,

    Petrophysics and log analysis/display is crucial part of RE, I hope by addresing this matter I will find a solution.
    I extracted from CPI logs Depth, Reservoir, Net pay, Phi and Sw as *.txt then exported to *xls.
    Is there any software, or might someone has a spreadsheet tomanage this data. I need to get a final product such as h - total net pay, Average phi for given h and average Sw. Most sensible solution is i thing is xls macro, but i am not very strong in that. And also these data needs to be displayed against well tops i.e. by zones/levels.

    I will apreciate if you give your ideas.

    Chears.

  3. Dear Maratzhan,
    You can directly open file in *.txt format with IP-programe or
    make from it las-file and open it with any petrophysical soft.

    Unless you want to build a full property model, then a simple contouring program would do the trick. For each of the logs, sum the properties you want such as net pay and HCPV (Summation of Height x Poro x (1-Sw)) and tabulate against reservoir penetration X,Y location. You should then have for each data type 3 columns of data;
    X, Y, Data

    Use your favourite contouring program to interpolate a map - check the results. If it violates some observations (ie you know there is a shale plug in a certain area) then you will need to add in additional dummy X,Y points with (in the example I cited) zero values and re-contour
