greeting everyone,
can anyone tell me when do we have to install emergency isolation valves (EIV) that is connected to the ESD system on the discharge of the hydrocarbon pumps? in our company we have the standard requirement to install these EIV on the suction and on the discharge only if the discharge pressure will remain above 40psig after pump shutdown; i couldn't understand where is the 40 psig came from and what is the international standrd for this requirement.
