Isolation Valve

Hello guys

I have question about the pressure connections on process pipe .The standard connection is Process Tap from pipe then the isolation valve then tubing and fittings then goes to instrument valve manifold.

my question is, is there any required distance or standard distance between isolation valve and process tap (pipe).

can anyone give me idea about this.

This may depend on location and service - assume the tap is off the top of the pipe. The valve may need to be located in an accessible location. If the fluid service is hazardous, then keep the distance short. Also depends on the fittings and pipe sizes. If you have a sockolet on the header, and then connect with nipple to an isolation valve, then a 75mm nipple should be OK. If using weldolet and flanged connection, then weldolet direclty to WN flange, and bolt valve on.
