Thread: Import Wellheads Petrel -> ECLIPSE

  1. Import Wellheads Petrel -> ECLIPSE

    Hey all,

I imported grid and props from petrel to eclipse. Now i would like to know how i can import the x,y coordinates from my petrel to my ECLIPSE model ..!?

when i export wellheads from petrel it has the following format:

    Code:
    UWI
    Well symbol
    Surface X
    Surface Y
    KB
    TD (MD)
    Cost
    Spud date
    Simulation Name
    Operator
    TWT auto
    END HEADER
    "Wellname" "" -999 3533111.50 5840594.40 0.00 1754 -999 "NULL" "" "" -999
    thank you in advance!

Need to use the RE module to create a simulation deck in Petrel - in doing so it automatically creates the COMPDAT and WELSPECS keywords in the schedule, complete with appropriate ijk connections etc... I am not aware of any other way to do it in an 'automated' fashion. A more manual way is to simply click on the grid cell in which the well penetrates in Petrel and read off the ijk values in the info bar at the bottom

    Coming back to engineering.....
    You can not because eclipse
    1 build grid
    and then uses i,j,k location

In order to do i,j,k connection of wells to the grid you need
    1 import model to Petrel
    2 Import wells to petrel
    3 export wellconection from Petrel
in order to do this click to you grid and choose export
then choose eclipse well connection data(ascii)

From my reading, kingfisher was trying to create a simulation deck from a fresh Petrel model (no existing eclipse model to import) - that being the case, the suggestion I gave above does work (have used it many times). If you have your eclipse model already created, then you can do as temr suggests, or simply read out the compdat/welspecs keyword in the schedule section

  7. Please i need help l have petrel 2004 and a data but in the data sets i have horizons data, checkshot for only one well ,well logs ,seismic data , markers but note in the format in which welltops are tabulated need some to assist me on how to generate well tops from the data, well deviation.
