No, you don't have to match to the lab data. Simply choose the PVT correlation that is appropriate for your region of the world. As an example, in the Gulf of Mexico most engineers are using Petrosky.
However, what I recommend is matching to the bubble point data as a minimum. So match to the bubble point pressure, the GOR at the bubble point, and the Oil FVF at the bubble point. Just don't enter in the other points.
Your lab data will never really line up with the correlations in Prosper, it will in MBAL. The solving algorithms are different between the two tools. This is because the proces in Prosper is non-isothermal, whereas in MBAL it is isothermal. In Prosper mass balance is given priority in this non-isothermal process, therefore the match is never as good. This is okay, and even with equation-of-state this is a problem because the a(T) term is not really ever known as we move from reservoir to surface and indeed is probably changing.
