There you go!
Dear friend,
DIRECTIVE 97/23/EC OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT is not subject to Copyright (I suspect they were worried nobody will pay for a Parliament document ...) so you can download it for free from a lot of sources...
Attached is the . pdf version previously posted.

Thanks a lot dude...
I have one question...
We are supplying volume bottles where the design is as per ASME VIII Division 1 and Inspection and testing as per ASME IX.
The client has asked that Radiography and MT shall be as per PED 94/97/EC and also the WPS and PQR shall be as per PED.
What I know is, there is no specific guide line for RT/MT and WPS/PQR as per PED.
As per Annexure 1, 3.1.3, PED says, the Personnel performing the NDT shall be approved by inspector or Third part.
Also for welding, the joint efficiency is same as ASME.
Can some one tell me if there is any particular requirement in PED for RT/MT, like we have in ASME 8 division 1.
Best regards
Lochan
It is possible that your Client has in mind (as reference) a PED harmonized standard- EN 13445. Part 5 is about Inspection and testing.

All requirements depend on the category of your vessel.
Welding and NDT must be conform to your Code (ASME here).
However, PED requires :
- for pressure equipment in categories II, III and IV, operating procedures and personnel must be approved by a NoBo or a third-part recognized by a Member State.
- for pressure equipment in categories III and IV, the personnel must be approved by a third-part recognized by a Member State.
Moreover, for welding and welders qualifications, the third party must perform examinations and tests as set out in the appropriate harmonized standards or equivalent examinations and tests or must have them performed. It means that if you have ASME WPS and PQR, you must add additional examinations like in the harmonized standards.
And finally, don't forget to hire a NoBo for PED assessment ! (Categories II to IV)
see you,
Pierre
PED does not provide fabrication rules. ASME is recognized by PED. I think following those rules would suffice.
Yepp Curious...
I guess so...I mean PED is not a code....Its just a Guide line...You have to follow UW 11 and UW 12 of ASME 8 for RT....
Keep in touch

Thank you mariog
