Hi friend,
Please refer to ASTM D67B Handbook of Comparative World Steel Standards as below link :

thank you very much!!
Does any one have a BP standard giving material equivalences (ASTM, BS ,EN , DIN , JS..)
I saw this document a couple of years ago !!
Thanks
I can't find these in this book and another refrence.
But may be help you these:
1)SPV 450:Material No. 1.0345 DIN standard:EN 10028-2;EN 10216-2;;-5;EN 10273
%:C<=0.18 ,Si 0.15-0.75 ,Mn<=1.6 ,P<=0.030 ,S<=0.030 &Other
Plates for pressure vessels
2)SS 400:Material No.10040 ; Symbol:USt 42-2
% P<=0.050 , S<=0.050
Rolled Steels For General Structure
3)SFVC2A:It Doesn't have any Material No.
% C<=0.35 , Si<=0.35 , Mn 0.4-1.10 , P<=0.03 , S<=0.03
Forgings for pressure vessels
Thanks m.boka
There you go!. The material JIS SS400 has no equivalent in ASTM nor ASME, but the following are the similar materials in other standards :
Material SS 400 (Japan / JIS)
USt 42-2 DIN Germany
SS 41 JIS Japan
1.0040 WN Germany
Regards, Eddie
Thanks guys
thanks
..there is a free site in which you can find material equivalences and properties.
it is =[link Point to another website Only the registered members can access]
Note that in general the word equivalence is a bit vague !!
is it chemical equivalence ?
is it corrosion eqivalence ?
is it mechanical equivalence ? Allowables, Curves for external pressure...
is it it welding properties ( P no. , Ceq ,..)
At the end the design enginer should stay really awake and use his judgment !!
Dear tungping_pan,
Please upload the link again or drop me mail on rajmaneamit@gmail.com.
