Dear All,
I need a help on fractionantion of kerosene for producing white spirit WS (or Mineral Terpentine Ol, MTO):
I found assey and generated the ASTM D86 and TBP's for feed. Then simulated the atm column. At top, one gets say WS or MTO and bottoms is high boiling kerosne.
Results are:
TBP at 1 atm
vl%]Feed] WS]Bottoms]
0 108.7 108.7 213.8
5 126.6 121.5 216.7
10 142.7 133.7 219.7
20 165.7 154.9 225.3
30 176.6 167.5 229.0
40 186.0 175.0 232.4
50 196.2 181.7 236.7
60 207.5 188.5 240.9
70 218.8 195.7 247.1

20 174.8 165.0 232.8
30 182.0 173.2 232.9

95 249.0 210.3 261.4
100 265.6 219.8 267.4
Note there r 4 columns: Vol%, Feed Compostion, Top white Spirit Composition and bottoms com0position. Then u have values from 0-100% for all 3 streams
My questions are:
- R the TBPs ok?
- What if the startiing kerosene contains sulfur? Will it go in bottoms?
- Can I use thermosyphon reboiler with Thermic Fluid like Thrminol as hot utility?
- Or I need to use Kettle type pool boiling?
- How severe is fouling in bottoms reboiler?
Pl help me.
