Thread: Question About Pressure Drop on distillation columns

  1. Question Question About Pressure Drop on distillation columns

Hello, if anyone could help me with this doubt that i have, i would really be grateful

I was wondering how much pressure drop does each columns give, like lets say for a De-Ethanizer or a DeButanizer

    Thank you for your time

dan32131: is it for the purpose of process simulation or detailed design? This is not an easy thing.

Yes. this is for process simulation on hysys, i research that there is this rule of thumb that says there is a pressure drop of 0.1 psi per tray, how true is this statement?

You're very close; you can assume it 6mmHg (0.112 psi).
