this is about intergranular porosity.
this is about intergranular porosity.
i want to ask all users what is intergranular porosity? How it is different from normal matrix porosity???
plzzz reply to my post..............
Intergranular porosity refers to porosity between grains,
Intragranular porosity refers to porosity within grains (i.e. microporosity)
Matrix porosity is a combination of both inter and intra granular porosity.![]()
It's porosity inside the grains that make up the matrix. Usually as a result of diagenesis / dissolution of the grains
For example, there are some carbonate reservoirs that are made up of little round globular shells which act in much the same way as sand grains in terms of making up the reservoir matrix. There is 'traditional' porosity between the shells as well as intragranular porosity INSIDE the shells

thank you both of you....... can you share any presentation or stuff like this regarding intergranular porosity????

Put this into GOOGLE.
"intergranular porosity"
You will be surprised what you will find![]()
