What is the NDT Requirement for Category D pipe lines?

Hi I need some assistance regarding the NDT Requirements of Category D Lines. We are fabricating our pipe according to ASME B31.3 and the acceptance criteria is EN12517 (I do not have a copy). As far as I am aware the Category D Lines require visual inspection only. The client now after three years insists that it requires 5% RT (he specifies RT) and is trying to bring the job to a halt. We do 5% progressive NDT on All welders welding on site. Is anybody able to assist me? is this an actual requirement according to the code?

Get a copy of B31.3 and review 341.4.2. Also get a copy of EN 12517. How can you work according a code you dont own, nor have access to?

Pipelines are not inside B31.3, piping is, so I assume you mean piping systems. Pipelines are the realm of B31.4 and B31.8.

Yes I do mean piping system. I am currently only a QC Clerk but I am training to be a QC inspector, and the client rejected my packs and refused to conduct the hydro test, giving me that reasoning. I did not have a copy of the EN12517, however the QC inspectors do have it, its jus that I did not have access to either the QC's or the code at the time, so I just needed help verifying, so that I could hand it over to my management. I do have an understanding of it, but since I did not have it on hand I wanted help from more learned people such as yourself. It has been clarified with our management and that of the client. I was correct that 5% RT is not required only 5% visual, however we do a thorough 100% visual.
