Fire resistant wall design

I am looking for guidance in design of a fire resistant wall. Any guidlines, books or international standard or personel experience will be of help to me.

How to determine follwing for a fire resistant wall ?

• Wall height
• Wall width or thickness
• distance from the source of fire
• how to determine extent of safe area available behind this wall
