Thread: New to Pipeline Engineering

  1. New to Pipeline Engineering

Its been a long time since I graduated with my mechanical engineering and have almost forgotten most of the solid mechanics concepts. I have pipeline construction experience and have recently joined an engineering company as a Pipeline Engineer In Training. Could someone suggest a resource that could help me review the concepts from solid mechanics? thanks.

You would also need to review/refresh your fluid mechanics course. Pipeline engineering also involves other infrastructure such as metering, tanks, pump stations etc. There is a book by John L Kennedy which covers fundamentals of oil and gas pipelines which I found useful when I started in the pipeline industry a long time ago. Its not too technical but gives you a good background about the industry. I am not sure if they still publish it. I hope this helps.
