1. By HIPPS , Inventory( hydrocarbon or fluid content ) loss can be prevented by timely isolation of high pressure source . whereas in case of PSV fluid can get blown off to environment /flare .

2. HIPPS be used for pipe class change as an alternative to PSV in case later is difficult option.
