Friends and Brothers,

I am preparing to put out for bid a new buried oil shipping pipeline project that will be engineered and constructed to ASME B31.4 2012 Ed. and API 1104 21st Ed. I would like to know if anyone out there has had successful or unsuccessful experience with using either Manual PAUT or Mechanized PAUT on pipeline length of 8 to 10km, 10" STD W.T. I myself have used AUT with great success on subsea pipelines but don't see a lot out there on PAUT (Phased Array Ultrasonic Inspection). Reasoning behind using this method is rapid results, electronic record that can be shared, do not have to stop or delay other works while conventional gamma x-ray being performed and waiting on results. I am familiar with the ASTM and ASME Sec. V documents and have experience with manual PAUT.

I am not looking for pipeline contractors to contact me for project specifics for bidding purposes.
