Use ACTNUM in Petrel RE

Please be advise how can use ACTNUM in PetrelRE to build simulation model?

Bayan,

ACTNUM keyword simply deactivates cells when equal to 0 and actives cells when equal to 1. It's that simple. You can use it to deactive a shale break in the stratigraphy, thus creating a vertical flow barrier for example.

Thank you for the comments.my inquire how can use ACTNUM in Petrel RE by using calculator if it is just write ACTNUM=0 for all model then Write ACTNUM=1 for only the reservoir zone.

Now I understand your question. What I have done in the past is to create a completely new property using the calculator to deactivate those cells I don't want to include in the model, and name this new property for example NULL. As in ACTNUM, use 0 for deactivation and 1 to keep cells active. To apply this changes to the model (i.e. to implement NULL) you can use this new property as a Pore Volume multiplier, a porosity multiplier or a NTG multiplier. Any cell pore volume equal to zero will be deactivated, this zero values will be the result of multiplying NULL times the cell pore volume, porosity or NTG.
