low ph for produced water

salam aleikum
i m working in oil remover station and we observed we receive produced warter and separations waters with a low pH(4.9-5.7). what are the hypothesis or explanations of a low ph plz help me
are there a book about formation water and producedwater plz

It depends on several factors.
Do you treat water prior to injection? Nitrates or something.
Another possibility is the increase in CO2/H2S production (whatever you can expert). Have a look at the latest gas composition.
