I need you help!

I am working with Aspen hysys 8.0 and DeltaV Emerson, and I need establish a communication between this softwares.
When I used to Aspen Hysys 3.1which has a ribbon tool -> DCS and it works well, but in Aspen Hysys 8.0 I didn't find it.

Plz do not mind if i ask some silly question because i am new in process simulation. I have following questions.

1- What is the end result of process simulation. Is simulation means only verification of energy and mass balance

and

2- In every distillation case hysys ask number of plates required. But can hysys calculate no of plates itself ? if yes plz tell how with the aid of some tutorial

I am hopeful to get satisfactory answer from a world class hysys expert.
