I am currently a Master student in Petroleum Engineering and I am looking for a thesis topic related to hydraulic fracturing. I have been studying this subject for nearly 4 months. However, what I think I know is merely basic knowledge of hydraulic fracturing. I haven't made any hydraulic fracture design. I don't have field data. I can not consult my supervisor because his expertise is different. I don't have any friend with hand-on experience in this field either. What I can access includes: a computer installed with a hydraulic fracturing simulator package, some types of sands, chemicals and lab instruments (viscosity), and some textbooks.

The problem is that I cannot research anything else but hydraulic fracturing because this is my supervisor project. Therefore, I raise this thread with a hope that you will kindly suggest me some possible, good research topics in consideration of my aforementioned constraints.
