Sealing Strips / Dummy tubes - Heat Exchanger

I have a project of a heat exchanger which should be fitted with several sealing strips and dummy tubes in the shell side. I have many doubts about the design details of these elements. If somebody is able to share some typical details (sketchs) I will be very grateful for your support. ( Example: Are the strips and the dummy tubes welded to the baffles or to the tubesheet??)

Sealing strips and dummy tubes are welded to baffles only...No need to weld them with tubesheet....

the sealing strip are in peripheric zone or the dummies rods or tubes are in the passlanes
they are between the inlet and outlet nozzle shellside

Mbc.engg and Lois Thank you for your efforts and your attention.
I have one more doubt about this matter.
Are the both tops of the dummy tubes closed? Or just one top?
    Thanks!!

dummies tubes must be obturated at each end, provide two holes (top and bottom on dummies tubes for vent and drain)

If dummy tubes are for future use then they will be joined to tubesheet similar to other tubes and will be plugged. They will be used in future as and when required. However if they are only for sealing purpose in pass lanes then they will not extend to tubesheet and they will be closed from both the ends.

if the baffles are in carbon steel, the seal rods are more economical than the dummies tubes

Re: Sealing Strips / Dummy tubes - Heat Exchanger

Hello! I have one more doubt. Please help me.
The sealing strips are assembled between the first and the last baffle. In other words, the space between the tubesheets and the first/last baffle don´t have sealing strips. Correct?
    Thanks in advance.

example for aes type there are the first baffle and last baffle then the support plate
the support plate is near to the stationnary tubesheet
the sealing strips and dummies tubes are welded on the first baffle to the last baffle
the space between the tubesheets and the first/last baffle he don´t have sealing strips. it's Correct
