    well test design "beginner"

    Hey everyone

I just need some steps or procedures to guide me through the well test design using a software package , like in general ..
How should I start ? what is the first thing to look at ? inputs ? outputs ? how is it useful ? ..etc..
all these things .. and whatever you think is important !

    Thanks a million

Go to "OTHER TOOLS" > "TEST DESIGN" and enter the current rate and initial pressure history, with lastly measured of offset well permeability and other properties. select the most prospective model based on GnG information or last test. Enter the last step time = 1000 hrs just to estimate the actual time required for PSS flow to be established.

don't forget to test whether wellbore storage would be significant and you have sufficient test duration. you would need wellbore volume and fluid compressibility. if it is may be downhole shut-in would be preferred option.

Thank you both for your quick response ,

But am still confused how Can I choose the right model ? I know it is based on the reservoir itself
I mean what model I can usually start with ? and then edit ?

am sorry but this is the first time I work on well test design . so brief explanation with each step would be really helpful

    Thank you again

Take help from Geologist or Geophysicist to under stand the prospective presence of fault, boundary, layering or stratification, fractures etc.
Usually faults are apparent on contour maps.
