Question Darcy's Equation ? relative permeability curve ?

    Good Morning all

please I need to know the following :

    - what is Darcy's Equations for 2-phase and 3-phase flow ..

    - and i need an example of a 3-phase relative permeability diagram .

    - what are the differences between peripheral and pattern flooding and their applications ?

ur help is much appreciated !

    Thank you

Re: Darcy's Equation ? relative permeability curve ?

Darcy equation is only strictly valid for single phase incompressible fluids. Addition of pressure squared terms (for gas) and rel perms are our ways to keep using the simple relationship on increasingly complex situations.

With regard to three phase rel perm, try Google - its this great new tool that actually helps you find stuff if you look - third result down should give you what you want if you type in "3-phase relative permeability diagram"

Peripheral flooding is a type of pattern. The 'pattern' chosen depends on your fluids, geology, structure etc. If you have nice homogeneous system with a dip in the structure, then you might think that placing (for example) water injectors downdip and allowing gravity to stabilize the interface as you produce updip may yield best recoveries. If the reservoir is more heterogeneous and/or little dip then you might decide an inverted 5-spot would work best. There are no 'one size fits all' rules, you need to think through the scenarios, do the work and calculate the NPV (or whatever criteria is important) to arrive at the best plan.
