Permeability Calculation

Dear All,

I HAVE A WELL, WHICH NEVER BEEN TESTED AND i HAVE ESTIMATED THE OIL RATE from fluid correlation , IS THERE A WAY TO CALCULATE FORMATION PERMEABILITY FROM THE RATE PLEASE.

By knowing the rest of parameters in Darcy eq. you can estimate effective perm to the flowing phase by simply solving for it (provided you use the right formulation for steady or pseudo-steady state, depending upon your case)

if well wasn't tested and you estimated oil rate from equation/correlation then you have made assumption on well PI or permeability somewhere.

the only way to calculate perm is from rock type (sand,carbonate, deposition depth, porosity )
knowing that you can search for correlations
for exmp permiability of sand is in magnitude from 10- 1000 md
and carbonate from 0.1 to 10 md
