Dear All,
Firstly,hope everything goes well you.
Now, we have an EPD (Engineering/Procurement and Drilling) project in hand and for casing selection I have faced to important question so I shall sincerely appreciate if you could help me in this regard.
The aforesaid project is an oil reservoir and based on the first DST report of the closest well shows 20-40ppm H2S and up to 6% CO2 were measured in the gas stream from the separator.
the question is about casing selection in the well from bottom to the surface.as you know CO2 and H2S are cause of corrosivity in the casings and usually we use Chrome casing (CRM) for such wells who are affected by those gases, but the mentioned casings are so expensive than the ordinary types. I have reviewed some Standards such as Nance,API and so forth without any exact answer but in Sumitomo Material Selection (attached) there is a chart that illustrate usage of casing based on CO2 and H2s Pressure and Temperature but I cant use it based on my reservoir data.
I will be obliged if you let me know how can find a clear way in order to select the casings from bottom to the surface according to CO2 and H2s behavior.
Thanks in advance
Bests,
Edward
