I run into a lot of vessels where I have no design information and have to try and calculate the MACP and the pressure T-MIN for the vessel. Are there any allowances in the codes to assume that the vessel is constructed out of specific materials due to O.D. and current thickness?
Currently if I have no design information and the material is seamless I assume SA-106-B, and If the material isn't seamless I'm forced to assume SA-283-C. (please reference any ASME code used in your answer, because I will need it to substantiate my reasoning for breaking the norm)
