Dear Engineers
How can I model the buried pipe in OLGA? Could I define the outer wall as soil with 1.5 m thickness?

Hi,
Following both options will give the same results.
You can calculate equivalent burial depth using the equation from OLGA users manual
OR
Use the actual burial depth (if it is 1.5 m) and descretize the soil layer. When you descretize the wall, it should be noted that the ratio of adjacent wall thickness should be <=5

Thanks a lot FluidFlow
Dear FluidFlow
I've buried a pipe as the attached scheme (1 meter underground), then defined a soil wall with 1 meter thickness. my question is: what are the ambient T and K? note that the 3 sides of the pipes is surrounded by soil and the 4th side surrounded by air.
thanx engineer

See the attached file to find the answer, I think.

interesting discussion
Dear motaleby,
May I get other manual of OLGA 7? Thanks before
Install OLAG 7 then go to installed folder and find OLGA help in chm and pdf formats
Hi Fluid flow,
I came across same problem recently but didnt find a solution, pls. if you can tell the equations from olga manual for this as i am unable to find them. Also, if you can elaborate further on the soil descretize option.
thanks in advance.

Abhineet
