WPS help needed

Can any 1 explain me how to select a filler / electrode for a particular material ( as per code ).
and how to find out the A no of filler/electrode .?

coz i was not able to find the wayto find the filler wire for an new alloy matrial used in our shop floor to make the WPS for that.

Hence i needed to start from scartch , to how to find a filler wire suiting the welding of a particular material.

or can any one refer me whre to look for my answer or whr i can start from the basic of it?

son77jai, Since we don't know what material you are using or the Code you intend to use I will assume that you are welding a ferrous material per ASME VIII (since you did mention "A-Number"). We know that we want a filler material to closely match the properties of the base material. I suggest you start be taking a look at look at table QW-442 in ASME Section IX. I also suggest you talk to your Consumable Supplier. They may be able to sit down with you and discuss the specific selection. Good Luck
