    Inhouse development

Almost a year now i developing the tool for data base and 2d/3d grid generation and petrophysical modeling i planning to make it public here in this forum in an year Insha'Allah but...
As i will need experience of you all i would like to ask you to post here the following data relating to geology modeling
    1. Positioning/Projection
    2. Grid types
    3. Grid/Mesh generating algos
    4. Petrophysical modeling algos
    5. File formats descriptions
    6. 3D objects visualization
Please post all your link here i will check them for uniqueness
If there are people willing to participate in this project as coders let me know
Also i need to know is there people here willing to involved in test/debug process
All requests for coding and testing should be sent directly to me

    thread is unpinned.
Initially my intend was make my developments available to any registered user on egpet user but from now on
use of my developments on invitations only !

temr - I think part of the problem was that it was not clear what you were asking for...

Were you after datasets? Wish lists of how those items would work? Code or algorithms to implement them? If you were indeed after input to help you understand how to code all of the above, then it's a mammoth undertaking you plan to take on. Indeed it'd be hard enough to do all the above even if you understood the mechanisms exactly, but good luck to you anyway! :-)

    Vinomarky,
i do have coding resources i need from you
data on the list i wrote ( post it here)
The second thing i want from this forum is build the group of testers
I expect my first beta for testing by the end of the June , if you have the time you will be the first in this group)
If you know members that can take part in this invite them also
It is hard but can be done.
Now i have working addin for excell which reads vectors data from binary smspec files
The installation file will be posted soon

    Hi Temr,

Happy to take a look and give feedback. As far as data on positioning/projection & algos etc, I'm afraid I'm not much help. I'm like a race-car driver - good at driving, but wouldn't have a clue about designing the engine. I'd suggest though that you start simple and then incrementally add complexity - along those lines you may want to seriously consider not trying to support projections etc from the beginning - Petrel didn't support projections either until only quite recently - just another layer of complexity that is not needed right now. You could simply work in Northing/Easting cartesian space.

Interested to have a look at your excel addin as well.

  9. I'm also a software developer in most part therefore I may evaluate that just started to code prcedures that will be helpful in some specific tasks. Tell us more about fuctionality of your software that already implemented and planned for realization. These topics in your list is wide enough, I'm sure that it will be not hard to find a book regarding every item in the list. I'm prefer to start from as simple physical models as possible. Also It will be interesting to know what tools you are involved in development process. Here are answers for your list just for example
    1) "J.C. Iliffe Datums and Map Projections. For Remote Sensing, GIS and Surveying"
    2) structured/unstructured grid, voronoi diagrams, triangulation and more...
    3) total variation deminishing runge-kutta schemes, force-based grid generation algorithm, grid generation based on solving laplace equation and so on
    4) "Reid R.C., Prausnitz J.M., Poling B.E. - The properties of gases and liquids (4ed., MGH, 1987)"
    5) Eclipse documentation in most part, I'm also interested to find description of RESCUE exchenge format
    6) engineering visualization was historically based on OpenGL however you may be original and try DirectX, for example
