well, I'm not expert of such systems but sounds like a positioning device based on a radioactive emitting source.

For these, first of all you should assess the type of radioactive material is used, its amount and its primary emissions type e.g. alfa-emission, gamma-emission etc...
Surveillance of these sources shall always be required from security and medical points of view.

I guess that all the health concerns for radioactive protection are well posed; consider also the disposal of metallic wastes and intercheangeable parts that might be activated from exposure to neutron or gamma-emissions

Dear friends

Thank you, yesterday I ask some questions from SLB MWD crews and i get some useful information
in these tools there is two radioactive source one of the is cesium 137 for gamma source and another one is americium 241 for neutron source and power of gamma source is around 1.7 curies and neutron source is around 10 curies.

If somebody has more useful information like training course please share it to everybody to increases the safety level.
