In some of the industries I have visited, when a safety valve prematurely passes, they often tighten the safety valve set pressure adjustment screw online till the passing stops. I have been objecting to this practice as the set pressure adjustment screw should be adjusted only on a test bench. Can anyone send me excerpts from codes/standards which prohibit this practice?
