The Reverse circulation jet pump consists of a jet pump housing that is either tubing conveyed or set in a sliding sleeve above a packer. The jet pump contains the nozzle and throat combination best suited for the well conditions (Determined by software analysis)

Power fluid (Same fluid as the formation fluid) is pumped from the surface down the tubing casing annulus into the jet pump. The jet pumping action draws formation fluid into the bottom of the jet pump housing. The combined power fluid and formation fluid then travel to the surface inside the production tubing. The amount of fluid fromthe formationis measured on the surface as it enters a storage vessel or via flow meter.

A surface pump is required to pump the power fluid down to the jet pump.

Jet pumps have been used for drillstem tests, frac flow backs and for normal production.
