Thanks a lot for your good mind to help me out from trouble. Why can't we start a new section in this forum exclusively for welding engineering/inspection to discuss all issues and share books and articles?

    Thanks and Regards

thats a good idea..we have to talk with the admin about this ;-)

to be honest, the only way is to start working as a welding technologiest or engineer (if you have IWE degree)..then, base yourself at the beginning to learn something about usual welding processes (GTAW, GMAW/FCAW, SMAW, SAW), not just theory, practical part is much more useful..learn also something about other processes, like STT or automatic GTAW or stud welding or any process your firm working with..
learn how to do welding plans...pwht plans...learn about the materials you working with, also dont forget filler metals...
if you into EN (BS) standards, start with 12952, 13445, 13480, 12952, 5817, 287-1...but base yourself at the welding parts..
make some WPAR's, WPS's, PWHT diagrams, organize the certification for some welders, learn em some theory too...

but...if you not in such of need of welding, don't ever became welding engineer cause you'll loose your nerves very soon, and you'll have to read and learn through whole life...trust me..it's messed up job and you'll never know everything, cause there's always something new...

isn't it to shallow only talking welding technology without mentioning metallurgical science?

IMHO when we have to start learning welding, then the first thing to be search is the metallurgical aspects of the welding.
